Client support for Extension personnel has unique and challenging issues – the workforce is spread out over a large geographic area, is on the move visiting all areas of the state, and needs the same access to information as rest of the university. Add in budgetary restraints, and it becomes critical to develop tools and infrastructure to support your clients effectively and efficiently. What are some of the tools you use to address these issues? What infrastructure have you put into place?
When it comes to delivering content to our clients, both our Extension personnel and the general public, there are an overwhelming number of choices of technology to use. What are the best methods for communicating among Extension personnel? What are the best methods for communicating to our clients? How are educational programs being delivered? How do we know they are effective?
Keeping up with new technologies is challenging enough - being able to effectively support them is nearly impossible. How do we keep Extension personnel engaged with ever-changing technology? What new technologies have been incorporated in your organization? How can we quickly evaluate and support new tech?
Technology is constantly changing, which makes a career in IT interesting but challenging. How can we find and retain quality employees? How can we ensure that IT staff are up-to-date with the latest technology and security practices? How can we effectively communicate IT's value to our clients?
